An even more perfect city car.

Available in pure, passion, and prime model lines, the all-new 2017 smart fortwo Electric Drive has it all. A three-phase synchronous motor and 17.6 kWh battery ensure excellent performance and range, while the sharp wheels, sporty stance, and two-tone color scheme make it electric in more ways than one.

Key Improvements

Shorter charge times. Never-ending fun.

The 2017 fortwo Electric Drive improves on its predecessor in almost every way. It boasts an estimated range of 80 miles and a charge time as low as 2.5 hours[1], as well as greater horsepower, acceleration, and top speed.[2] Simply put, it raises the electric bar.

Coupe or Cabrio

The only EV that lets you drop the top.

Enjoy the exhaust-free air with a convertible soft top that retracts in just 12 seconds, even while you're on the move. It has multiple settings so you can have it slightly open or all the way back, and it faces the same durability test as a Mercedes-Benz, so it holds up in any weather.

Interior that empowers your every move.

The interior of the Electric Drive is fitted with specific systems to enhance your ride. The available smart Media System features a 7" touchscreen display with navigation and energy data, while the optional Climate Package provides a heated steering wheel and additional insulation for efficiency and comfort in colder climates.
