Q. How does the process work?
A. smart USA offers a variety of color options on our website, however, there are a number of additional colors available to order by visiting your local smart center. Upon selecting a color, you may place your order by providing the specific paint code to your smart center representative. The panels will be shipped directly to the smart center in 7-10 business days. Your smart representative will then work with you to schedule an appointment to install your new panels.
Q. How can I place an order?
A. You must contact your local smart center to place an order.
Q: As a current owner, can I have my current panels repainted or do I need to purchase
an additional set?
A. Through the custom paint program, smart USA will exchange your panels for a new set of custom painted panels. If you choose to keep your current panels and would like to simply purchase an additional set, you may do so by contacting your local smart center for details and pricing information.
Q: What kind of paint is used?
A. The paint being used for your custom finish is a waterborne acrylic latex color
coat with acrylic urethane clearcoat. It is a very similar to the paint technology
that is used at the factory but is designed to be cured at lower temperatures.
Q. Does the paint require any special care?
A. All new paint finishes whether they are applied at the factory or a refinish
system require special care when new to ensure that your car maintains that new
look for the life of the vehicle. Your custom finished vehicle comes with a simple
to follow “Care For Your New Finish” brochure.
Q. Is the paint scratch resistant?
A. No paint finish is truly scratch resistant. Some are designed to be less sensitive
to minor abrasions. Minor abrasions and scratches are easily removed with automotive
polishing compounds.
Q. Do the colors on the website match the color of the painted panels I will receive?
A. Images provided on smartusa.com are for representation only. Due to monitors
and monitor settings, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the colors depicted on
the website.
Q. Am I able to order a color other than what I see on the website?
A. Yes. smart has the ability to match any color through the “Any Color You Want”
program. Simply bring a swatch of your desired color to your local smart dealer
to place an order.
Q. Where do I get my new panels installed?
A. Your local smart dealer will install the new panels for you.
Q. I live in a very sunny and hot climate; will the paint fade in these conditions?
A. All paint finishes will degrade over time with exposure to sun, heat and other
external factors. To keep your car looking new, follow the “Care For Your New Finish”
brochure.

A. smart USA offers three levels of custom paint options:*
- Level 1- Aquabase Plus: $1550
- Level 2- Aquabase Plus Tri-coat: $1950
- Level 3- Any Color You Want: Pricing varies depending on color. See dealer for more information.
*Pricing excludes tax, shipping, installation and other dealer fees.
Q. What is the return policy?
A. All sales are final.
Q. Can I get a discount on bulk orders?
A. No.

Q. How will my order be shipped? When will it arrive?
A. Every order is shipped directly to the specific smart dealer that places the
order. Shipping times will vary depending upon location. Your dealer will contact you to schedule panel installation.
